They've known each other since high school, but it took them until last Fall to finally start dating. When you know, though, you know and it didn't take them long after that to realize they were meant to be together forever.
Such a cute couple! I can't wait for their wedding this summer. I'll for SURE cry that day (yes, I'm a crier - so what?!).
So, to reveal how far behind I am on the whole "blogging my sessions" thing, Chris and Liz actually got MARRIED this past Saturday. Congratulations guys! And I hope you're having fun in San Antonio!!!
We did their engagement/bridal/family session at the Dallas Arboretum, which I had actually NEVER been to. Crazy, right?! And I seriously could have photographed the place all day. There were that many amazing locations. So beautiful!
We went several different directions with this session. First, we did casual family pictures. Since this was going to be a blended family, I thought it was a GREAT idea to incorporate the kids into the festivities. It's a huge deal for the kids too, to get a new step-dad, so I thought it was wonderful to include them.
Then everyone got all dressed up and we did formal portraits and bridals.
One really GREAT idea that Liz had for the reception was to frame prints from this session and to use them a table decorations. I LOVE that idea, especially since some were family pictures, and some were formal bridals. If your wedding and reception are very small, and only have close family and friends, that would also make great favors - let the guests take home a framed picture of you two!
Congratulations again Chris and Liz, and thank you for letting me be a part of your big day.
A few weeks ago, right near the end of what seemed like an ENDLESS amount of rain, we finally made Christie and Eric's engagement session happen. And it turned out to be one of the most beautiful evenings I think we've had all summer. Gorgeous light + an amazing couple = a PERFECT shoot.

I'ave had the chance to shoot lots of different, new places this summer, and the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens was one of the ones I was most excited about. Most especially because this AMAZING family wanted to use the Japanese Gardens for their session. If you haven't been there, you should totally go. There IS an entrance fee, but it's 100% worth it. And it's only about a 30 minute drive from Midlothian, so it doesn't take forever to get there either.
Great family!!! They were so much fun too. We were all hot and sweaty by the end, but we were all cracking up almost the entire time. LOVE THAT!!!!
Yet another one of my wonderful couples! We met at the Ft. Worth Water Gardens for this shoot, planning to shoot around the gardens, but instead finding some really fun places to shoot just by wandering around. I have to apologize to Ryan - we drug him ALL OVER in the heat, and made him get all dressed up, and then, to top it off, he broke his sunglasses. SORRY RYAN!!! I hope you forgive me by October!! And it wasn't really THAT bad, was it?! lol

Went all the way to Richardson for this e-session, and the location was PERFECT!!!! Way to scout Erin!! I love finding new locations to shoot.....it's harder than shooting in the old tried-and-true locations, but it's also exciting and challenging at the same time. Fun!!!
Aren't they cute?! I can't WAIT for their wedding next month at Maggiano's. It's a BEAUTIFUL location and is sure to be a beautiful wedding!!!
This was a new location for me, which is ALWAYS fun, although I certainly don't mind my old tried-and-true favorites either. They also brought their dogs, which were the most well-behaved dogs EVER. Seriously. I almost considered offering my photography free in exchange for dog-training. But my dog is pretty much a lost cause I think. lol
Anyway, we had a great time and shot not only family pictures, but also senior pictures (which I'll be posting next in their own blog post). I seriously could not decide which ones to show on here!!!! AACK!! Too many favorites!!!
I've been having so much fun with my sessions this Spring!! Well, I'll admit that I almost ALWAYS have fun with my sessions - but the weather has been so nice! And so far there aren't many mosquitoes! And no rain-outs!! It's been a WONDERFUL year and thanks to all you guys you have come and hung out with me!!!
(sorry for all the !!!!! I'm addicted. It's a sickness. Do they make rehab programs for overuse of the exclamation mark?) :)
Some of my families I already know when they schedule a session. And the ones I don't know, well, I never know what to expect. Will they be uncomfortable? Will they like me? Will they get "into it" and have fun?? Seriously, I stress out about it!! It's really like a first, blind, date. With the Lewis family - I didn't need to worry AT ALL. When a little boy jumps out of the car, shakes your hand, and starts talking 90-to-nothing, I KNOW it will be a fun shoot. And it was!!! Plus, the whole family is SO STINKIN' CUTE!!

I had so much fun with this couple!!! They're super funny and totally game for anything, even if they DID have to go home and nap afterwards. There will be an addition to their family come next month - a little GIRL addition - and I'm 100% positive they will make AMAZING parents.
