Spring Mini Sessions Available!!!

Through the month of April I'll be doing another round of Spring Mini Sessions. These sessions are perfect for Easter and bluebonnet pictures.  And I've found some GREAT bluebonnet spots this year!!!  I have sessions available both on the weekends and during the week to make it convenient for everyone.

Details: Session Price $50.00 (due upon booking)

• 30 minute session
• Approximately 10 proofs in your online gallery
• $25 print credit

This year I am also adding a CD of images to my product offerings.  I've had lots of inquiries for them, so it's an experiment right now.  In other words, it might not last long!!!  They are available for these mini sessions for $125.00 and yes, your print credit CAN be used for them.

2010 Holiday Mini-Sessions - Midlothian, Texas

Okay - for those of you who didn't already read it in the newsletter a few weeks ago, here's the scoop on the mini-sessions for this Fall. 

First off, since I have very few weekend days available between now and the holiday ordering deadline (December 3), the minis are just first-come, first-served.  I have LOTS of weeknight spots available though, so if you REALLY want a session and are flexible, I can fit you in.  I also will be available during the early past of Thanksgiving week too, if that works for you. 

Details:

• $50 session
• Includes $25 print credit OR (1) set of 24 holiday cards
• 30 minute session
• Approximately 10 final images in your online gallery

All mini-sessions must be pre-paid in advance to hold your spot.

Fall Happenings.......

Oh my gosh!!!  It seems like overnight my fall schedule has gone crazy.  But it's all very exciting stuff.  I'm planning on sending out a newsletter in the next few weeks with all the details, but I just wanted you to know a few things I've got going on from now until Christmas.

First:  Holiday Mini-Sessions!!!  Definitely happening.  I'm planning those for the month of November (before Thanksgiving).  My holiday ordering deadline will be sometime around the first of December, so you'll need to have your card/print orders in by then to have them before Christmas.  I've got some really pretty new card designs in mind for this year, so I'll be showing you those too.

Second:  Halloween Pictures!!!  I wanted to do this last year but just ran out of time.  I've planned early this time!!  My current plan is to have a come-and-go setup on Halloween afternoon.  That way you can come by, get your child's picture taken, and head out trick-or-treating.  I'll have pre-determined packages that you can choose from, and I'll just mail your images to you in about a week after Halloween. 

Third:  Santa Pictures!!!  This is a very new item on my calendar, but I'm really excited about it and can't wait to find out all the details.  Hanging out with Santa is never a bad way to spend the time. 

Hmmmm.....let's see......I think that's all the main stuff.  I'm so excited about my schedule so far this fall.  I have some really fun events plannes, and some really great shoots scheduled.  Can't wait to share all the details with you guys!!!

Keepsake Boxes

I'm a huge fan of anything storage-related.  Especially when it's cute!  In craft stores I always linger down the isle with all the brown cardboard boxes in the crazy shapes.  Do you know the ones I'm talking about??  They usually have matching lids and are meant to decoupage, or paint or something.  I don't know.  But I like them!!!  Which is why I'm also a fan of these Keepsake Boxes. 

 

They're 5x7 in size, and hold about 100 images.  I also include 20 of your favorite 5x7 prints from your session to get you started.  I love the idea of all that extra space for images, because that means that you can make one for a specific year then add your own images to it throughout the year.  OR - make one for each child and add images as they grow.  Isn't that a cool idea?!

The ribbon makes it easy to get the images out, which makes it PERFECT for leaving on the coffee table or your desk and letting people look through them.

Or you can stack them and place them on a shelf.

So many great ideas for these!!!  LOVE!!!   

Website/Blog Update

Things are going to start looking a bit strange around here for a little while.  I'm working on a FABULOUS new website and blog that I'm so excited about!  I don't want to shock anyone's system though, so I'm rolling it out slowly, changing a few elements here and there.  It's still me though - just newer and better!!!

Products - CD Cases

I've done a ton of these CD cases lately, and I just love them!!!  Image CDs are a part of some of my wedding and event packages, and I love putting together these amazing cases for my clients because they are such a great keepsake from their event.   They have a magnet that holds them closed, and are available with room for either one OR two CDs, depending on the size of the event.  I actually use DVDs instead of CDs, just because they hold so much more, so I rarely need to order the double holder. 

 
These are built just like my large, 10x10 albums, and the craftmanship is wonderful. 

Another fantastic product I use to create these are Lightscribe DVD's.  I LOVE these!!!!   They are so cool and are 1000 times better than a sticker (or a sharpie - lol).  You can kind of see the CD peeking out of the top of this case......

This is a HUGE package I created for a client whose husband was celebrating his 90th birthday.  It was an amazing party (I blogged it a few months ago) so we decided on a 10x10 album (in leather, to match his favorite boots), a CD of images, and a special-order, 4x6 Keepsake Box.  I love thinking about how treasured this whole package will be in years to come!

I think one of the best parts of my job is knowing that in 50 or 100 years or longer, the photographs I take of your families will be part of your legacy, and the husband and son you had to drag, kicking and screaming, to a session will one day be grateful for these memories.  I LOVE looking at old family photos, even of family members I don't know, so it's wonderful to think that what I'm creating TODAY will (far too) soon be "old family photos" themselves. 

Studio News - Summer Hours

It's hot outside.  I don't have to tell you that though!  And I know the last thing most people want to do is sit outside in fancy clothes while someone takes pictures of them.  But it's a pretty time of year, and the kids are out of school - so there's also no better time to take pictures. 

So here are some ideas to make your summer sessions cooler:

• Schedule a session early in the morning -- we can start shooting as soon as the sun comes up, which is about 6:30 these days.  And if you're not a morning person you can take comfort in the fact that I'm not either.  We'll suffer through it together!!!  And the pictures will be FABULOUS!!!!  Alternately, we can shoot late in the afternoon.  Now that the sun is staying out until 8:30 or so, we can shoot at 7 and still have plenty of light.  It won't be as cool as an early-morning session, but still cooler than the rest of the day.
• Instead of a session with the entire family, just update the kid's pictures -- most kids don't seem to mind a little heat, plus, we can get some really fun pictures of them playing in the sprinklers or the pool, blowing bubbles, eating popsicles.........think of it as the perfect time to document those fun things they do on long summer days.  These types of sessions make PERFECT albums, and are fun additions to add to the "wall of photos" most of us have in our homes.  Formal photos are great, but most of us live our lives very unformally - why not capture THOSE memories too??

Also, Seniors, now is the best time to start thinking about Senior pictures.  I KNOW it seems like it's a long way to graduation, but trust me, it will come fast.  When you factor in the hustle and bustle of school starting, the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays, and Spring Break, there's not much time left to take your pictures.

Updated Product - 5x5 album

I've shown samples of this album before, but haven't had it on the price list in a year or so.  I think I was just waiting for the right inspiration to strike, and the newborn shoot I did a few weeks ago was PERFECT for this!!!

They are 5x5", which sounds small, but they definitely pack a punch!!

I like to keep the inside design simple, with just a border around the images.  This album is ALL about the images!!!!

There are 5 pages, and 10 sides - which is a PERFECT compliment to a print order.  You can keep it in your purse to show off your images to friends, or give as a gift to a grandparent.  LOVE these albums!!

Another amazing thing about these albums is that they are all completely hand-made to order.  It takes a bit longer to get one of these, but it's definitely worth it.  They are the best product of their kind available, and their cover options are limitless.

The white album is the "white downs" cover, and the orange on the bottom is the "hollywood orange".  Two more of my personal favorites are "riverdell" and "pot o' gold".  LOVE the colors!!!
